CCRI CREATIVE WRITING
ENGL or permission of instructor, Lecture: In this course the student develops critical writing and thinking skills that are essential for college and workplace success. Representative pieces of multicultural poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and drama are studied for their literary, sociological, and historical significance. This course traces the development and impact of African American writers from the era of slavery to the present by examining the unique experiences and challenges presented in their works.
It focuses specifically on speaking and listening skills for writing study. Writing research paper or a series of short source creative, some on the same subject, is the major requirement of the course. Emphasis is on changing approaches to theater as well as the social, cultural and philosophical implications in the representative plays. As a literary form, fantasy ceeative writing broadens the reader’s understanding of what ccri is and what it does, but writing explores the fundamentals of literature to suggest unusual and innovative ways of looking at the world.
